Skala twardości Brinella - skala oznaczania twardości metali na podstawie testu dokonanego metodą Brinella. Twardość w skali Brinella oznacza się HB i leży w zakresie od 3 do 600.

W metodzie pomiary twardości Brinella, w próbkę metalu wciska się kulkę z węglików spiekanych. Średnica kulki (1 do 10 mm), czas oraz siła docisku, zależy od rodzaju materiału i grubości próbki. Twardość HB oblicza się z zależności:

HB = siła obciążająca w kG (obecnie używa się jednostek w N) / powierzchnia odcisku w mm2.

Metoda Brinella najczęściej stosowana jest przy odbiorze materiałów hutniczych. Procedurę dokonywania pomiarów opisuje Polska Norma PN-xx/H-04350.

De hardheid volgens Brinell, ook wel Brinellhardheid, is een maat om de hardheid van een materiaal mee uit te drukken. De maat is vernoemd naar Johan August Brinell in 1900, en was de eerste wijd gebruikte hardheidsmaat in de metallurgie.

Bij de hardheidsmeting volgens Brinell wordt een kogel in het te testen materiaal gedrukt. Deze geharde stalen (of soms wolfraamcarbiden) kogel heeft meestal een diameter van 10,00 mm. Ook wordt er gemeten met kogels waarvan de diameter 5, 2 of 1 mm is. De keuze van de diameter is afhankelijk van het type materiaal wat men wil meten. In principe geldt, hoe harder het materiaal des te kleiner de kogel. De kracht waarmee gedrukt wordt, kan ingesteld worden afhankelijk van het te onderzoeken materiaal. De grootte van de indrukking is een maat voor de hardheid van het materiaal. De diameter van de indrukking wordt met behulp van een formule omgerekend tot een getal dat de "Hardheid volgens Brinell" (HB) wordt genoemd:

Het materiaaloppervlak moet vlak en schoon zijn. Verder moet de dikte voldoende zijn zodat het materiaal niet vervormd wordt door de kogel; in de praktijk moet de dikte meer zijn dan 8× de diepte h van de indruk.

A Brinell-keménység méri a fémek ellenállását egy acélgolyó bemélyedésekor, amit egy megadott erővel préselünk a vizsgálandó fém felületére. Az eljárást a svéd Johan August Brinell mérnök vezette be 1900-ban, az acél hőkezelésén dolgozva és mint szabvány 1924-ben jelent meg.

Az eredeti szabvány szerint egy 10 mm átmérőjű edzett acél golyót 3000 kilogrammsúly, vagyis 29 kilonewton erővel préselnek a tárgy felületére, majd megmérik a tárgy felületén hagyott bemélyedés átmérőjét. A kapott eredménnyel kiszámítják a Brinell-keménységet: \mbox{BHN}=\frac{2P}{\pi D ({D-\sqrt{(D^2-d^2)})}} ahol:

  • BHN Brinell-keménység, az angol Brinell Hardness Number rövidítése
  • P a golyóra ható erő kilogrammsúlyban
  • D a golyó átmérője milliméterben
  • d a golyó által hagyott nyom átmérője milliméterben

A kapott érték dimenziója nyomás (erő osztva felszínnel), amelynek a mértékegysége Pascal. Az erő ebben az esetben az, amivel a golyót préseljük (kilogrammsúly), a felület pedig az érintkezési felület a golyó bemélyedése után (mm²), így a mértékegység kgf/mm². A kémiai elemek oldalain, a táblázatban a Brinell-keménység megapascalban (MPa) van megadva (az erő newtonban, a felszín négyzetméterben kifejezve).

Jelölés [szerkesztés]

A BHN jelölés (rövidebben HB) a fent leírt körülményekre (golyó típusa, átmérője, erő nagysága) érvényes. Eredetileg az acéltípusok meghatározására volt bevezetve, de később különböző anyagoknak is mérték a Brinell-keménységét (keményebbeknek is, de sokkal puhábbaknak is). A nagyon kemény anyagoknál az edzett acél golyó helyett volfrámkarbid golyót használnak. A puhább anyagoknál az erő kisebb a standard 3000 kilogrammsúlynál. Ezért kiegészített jelöléssel találkozhatunk:

  • HB – standard körülmények
  • HBS – az S az angol steel (acél) rövidítése – edzett acél golyót használtak
  • HBS10/100 – 10 a golyó átmérője, milliméterben; 100 az erő kilogrammsúlyban
  • HBW10/3000 -W a golyó volfrámkarbid, 10 mm átmérőjű és 3000 kilogrammsúly az erő

שיטת ברינל (Brinell Scale) היא שיטה לבדיקת קשיות מתכות. השיטה בודקת את התנגדות המתכת לחדירת חומר זר (חודרן) לתוכה. באמצעות בדיקה זו ניתן לקבוע תכונות טכנולוגיות ומכניות של החומר.

שיטת ברינל קרויה על שם ממציאה, המהנדס השבדי יוהן אוגוסט ברינל (Johan August Brinell). היא הומצאה בשנת 1900 והייתה השיטה הראשונה לבדיקת קשיות החומר.
בשיטת ברינל, בדומה לשיטת ויקרס, המדידה מתבצעת עבור העקבה שמשאיר החודרן במשטח הנבדק, ועל פי קוטרה ניתן לקבוע את קשיות החומר ביחידות BHN ‏(Brinell Hardness Number, מסומן גם כ-HB).

החודרן הסטנדרטי בשיטה זו הוא כדור פלדה בקוטר של 10 מ"מ הפועל בכח של 3000 קג"כ למשך 30 שניות. עומס הפעולה של החודרן משתנה לפי קשיות החומר; עבור חומרים רכים העומס המופעל נמוך, ועבור חומרים קשים משתמשים בחודרן העשוי מקרביד הטונגסטן במקום חודרן הפלדה.

שיטה זו מאפשרת לחשב את מאמץ המתיחה המקסימלי, והיא מהירה, זולה ופשוטה יחסית לשיטות אחרות.
חסרונה העיקרי הוא שמדידת קוטר העקבה נעשית על ידי הבודק - משמע אינה מדויקת.

הנוסחה המשמשת לחישוב קשיות לפי מספר ברינל היא:

L'échelle de Brinell mesure la dureté des métaux, par la compression d'une bille, généralement en acier, sur le métal que l'on désire tester.

Histoire [modifier]

Elle a est proposé en 1900 par l'ingénieur suédois Johan August Brinell, travaillant sur la transformation de l'acier selon la température.

La norme Brinell a été éditée dès 1924.

Dureté Brinell [modifier]

La méthode consiste à appliquer sur une surface une bille en acier de 10 millimètres de diamètre et d'appuyer sur cette dernière une force de 3 000 kilogramme-force (soit 29 kilo-Newton). Pour des métaux peu durs, une plus petite force est appliquée et pour les métaux très durs, une bille en carbure de tungstène est utilisée à la place de la traditionnelle bille en acier.

La formule permettant d'obtenir une valeur sur l'échelle de Brinell est la suivante :

où :

  • BH est le nombre de Brinell, le sigle complet est BHN pour Brinell Hardness Number
  • P est la force appliquée en kilogramme-force
  • D le diamètre en millimètre de la bille
  • d le diamètre en millimètre de l'empreinte laissée par la bille

La dimension de BH est une force divisée par une surface, c'est même la force appliquée rapportée à la surface de la calotte sphérique de la déformée, c’est-à-dire la pression de contact hors déformation élastique comme dans les autres essais comme Rockwell (HRB ou HRC) ou Vickers HV. Les différents essais donnent les valeurs approchantes les uns des autres, à l'influence près, de la forme du pénétrateur.
