Nëndetsja është një mjet lundrues i veçantë i përshtatshem për lundrimin nënujë. Nëndetsja e parë, me emrin American Turtle (Breshka Amerikane, për shkak të formës së saj) u ndërtua në vitin 1775 nga inxhenieri David Bushnell, dhe hyri në përdorim një vit më pas, gjatë Luftës së pavarësisë amerikane, në të cilën rreshteri Ezra Li u përpoq më kot të vendoste një lëndë shpërthyese në një anije angleze në portin e Nju Jorkut.
Në vitin 1800 amerikani Robert Fulton ndërtoi në Francë Nautilius-in, të gjatë 6 metra e të gjërë 1,80 metra, që mund të zinte 8 persona. Nautilusi mundej të lundronte si në siperfaqe, poashtu edhe të zhytej nën ujë për 8 orë.
